The Nigerian Nation is indeed in a pre-election season Ahead of the 2019 general elections which has seen various dramatic turns of views,political stands and events within political parties and candidates.

The turns and twists of the political season has evolved into diverse strategic plans aimed to increase votes,voters empathy and popularity of various presidential aspirants gunning for the Presidency come 2019.

However the show of deep patriotism,discipline professionalism,integrity and tenacity in convincing the already disenchanted, frustrated and disillusioned citizens by Dr. Johnson Edosomwan and his brilliant team. 

The Nigeria Democratic Congress Party haven designed a very strategic weekly media review of the state of the Nation,with her presidential flag bearer Dr. Johnson Edosomwan,responding to the big stories and events of the week.This strategy depicts a President who is poised to communicated and bond with his masses by getting first hand information on the daily challenges of his Citizens.

In one of such exclusive interview with the Globalnewsclock at the grand BON hotel Asokoro Abuja the heavily tipped NDCP presidential candidate beared his mind on the poor and corrupt state of Nigerian sports and football in particular. 

Dr.Edosomwan said if elected president he will be the president and champion of all sports.He
vowed not to spare football’s ruling body FIFA from his big stick and sanctions as FIFA has technically encouraged corruption in one breath and despised it in another hand. The former high school soccer player said Sports often gives one or youths the opportunity to escape drugs,poverty and crimes.

The Football lover expressed regrets with the poor dearth of infrastructures,sporting facilities and equipment available for children and youths to nurture their talents and skills amidst the harsh economic and social challenges rocking Africa’s largest black Nation.


Dr.Edosomwan,revealed that Nigeria’s sports and technology infrastructure deficit was down to the poor maintenance culture of Nigerians,citing the ugly state of the Abuja National stadium.He promised to establish community play parks across the country to encourage and engage the youths and children in the world of sports.

One of the most qualified Nigerian 2019 presidential candidate who is very vast and well read revealed that three(3)key components are relevant for Nigeria’s sports men and women to succeed,include Stamina,Weather and the abstinence from drugs,crime and corruption.

Dr. Johnson Edosomwan advised the Nigerian government,business community,sports men and women, sports stakeholders,Youths and children to see sports beyond just playing a sport but as a process of building early moral and ethical values in children and the entire citizenry.


When asked about the hiring of a German coach Gernot Rohr as coach of the National Football team,he said it was a slap on the Nations wealth of sports resources and ex-internationals. Dr.Edosomwan argued that the effects of Culture Shock should not be played down,as love for one’s country cannot be compared to a foreigners love for an adopted country.

He said the Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick, did not have to hire the German coach but instead Nigerian coaches should have been sent to Germany or any other place to acquire the knowledge or technology required.


 Rapping up his take on Nigeria’s sports sector he promised to improve the salaries and welfare of grass root coaches, scouts,teachers and sports masters in order to encourage improved and early spotting of future sports talents.

Speaking further on ways to cause positive changes in Nigeria’s sporting industry Dr.Edosomwan said the change of primary school curriculum was imperative and urgent in order to change the old and obsolete believe that sports is only meant to make money in lieu of Character molding.

The NDCP charismatic presidential aspirant said they were strategic methodology to get rid of the rogues and fraudulent persons within the sporting arena with out necessarily rocking the boat.

Dr Johnson emphasized the dire need to have the needed facilities ,soccer balls and equipment for sports in the country to develop better and stronger.
